Study Abroad for a Year or Semester!
AFS India will help high school students choose the perfect year or summer program. The experience will change the way you look at yourself and the world. There are many Partial Scholarships you may take advantage of.
Youth Exchange and Study (YES) was initiated by The Department of State in the aftermath of Sept. 11. It aims to build bridges of understanding between Americans and people in countries with significant Muslim populations.
Young people, aged 16-18 from Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Turkey live as a “son” or “daughter” in an American family and attend high school for an academic year or semester. YES students share their host families’ everyday lives, engage in school activities and volunteer in their communities. They learn about American society and values while helping to educate others about the customs and culture of their homelands.

Welcome an AFS Exchange Participant Into Your Family
AFS India will be hosting in July around 20 participants on the school year program, community service semester and university year programs. Currently, have been confirmed 5 participants from Italy, 4 from Switzerland, 1 from France, 2 from Norway, and 2 from Belgium.
Host families provide a bed and meals, and are asked to guide and support their hosted participants as they would any other family member in return for a lifetime of memories.
