Ecuador Details :
Ecuador is one of the most fascinating destinations in South America with its array of vibrant cultures, historical colonial architecture, volcanic landscapes, and dense rainforest—all in a nation no bigger than Nevada! But Las Vegas is nowhere to be found; rather breathtaking natural wonders are bountiful. The country’s ethnic diversity extends the country the Andes to the Amazon. Traditional arts, textiles, and ceramics tell the story of an Ecuadorian culture that dates from around 3,200 B.C. Four distinct regions—the highlands, coastal areas, rainforest, and the famous Galápagos Islands (where Darwin studied and wrote about evolution)—all make Ecuador an exciting country for you to discover while perfecting your Spanish.
18+ Community Service :
Spend a semester in Ecuador performing community service with a national or international non-governmental organization (NGO). Projects include }working with children, the elderly, or in an orphanage with varying responsibilities such as teaching, arts and crafts, sports, or language development. Upon arrival, you’ll spend a week at an orientation to learn about Ecuadorian culture and complete a 40-hour Spanish course. For one week during your stay, you can participate in a short-term exchange with another family in another part of the country and visit NGO projects similar to yours. Toward the end of the program, there is an optional five-day, four-night trip to the Galápagos Islands at an additional cost.
