The cultural wealth, breathtaking Andean landscapes, and remnants of the ancient Incan Empire make Bolivia one of the most exciting destinations in South America! Bolivia offers much diversity, seen in the ethnic groups, languages, and geography! In Bolivia, you may have the chance to explore the beautiful Andes Mountains, travel through rich valleys, or end up in its Amazon region.
Year and Semester :
Make Bolivia your choice for a truly global education. The Bolivian school year runs from February through November, with a winter vacation in June. Be part of the Southern Routes trip that visits colonial cities and significant sites. Join the optional trip to the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt plateau in the world, or hike the Inca Trail in the north.
Summer Community/Team Mission :
Earn up to 40 hours of credit through programs working with needy children. You’ll also have the opportunity to travel to the colonial cities of Sucre and Potos’, to learn about their histories, visit silver and zinc mines, and fascinating museums. You’ll become familiar with Bolivian culture and improve your Spanish by staying with a host family. The program provides orientations, Spanish classes upon arrival, and sightseeing with fellow AFS Participants.
