Argentina Details :
Argentina is a nation of immigrants. A considerable percentage of its population comes from Italy, Spain, Germany, the Nordic countries, South East Asia and more. Argentina is located on the southern most extreme of South America and shaped as a triangle. It rests on the Andes to the north and the antartic to the south. From tropic to arctic, Argentina’s landscape is a dazzling display of beauty. You’ll find plenty to explore in Argentina, from first-rate museums, galleries, theatres, and architecture to stunning natural wonders and a variety of landscapes not found anywhere else.
Family life :
Families in Argentina are very close and parental decisions are respected and followed. Parents expect their children to tell them what their plans are, where they are planning to go, with whom and at what time they plan to be home. It is common for many families to have grandparents living with them. Family lifestyles may vary, especially in Buenos Aires which is as diverse as any big metropolis.
School life :
The school year starts in mid March and ends in early December, with a winter holiday of two weeks in July. Students attend classes either in the morning or the afternoon. School in Argentina provides fascinating opportunities for AFS students to study subjects that are not available at home as well as the opportunity to learn more about Argentina and the Spanish language. Extra curricular activities are limited.
