National Volunteer Workshop April 2007

VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

From 13th April to 15th April 2007 New Delhi, India

Main Objectives

A. To set up the basic framework for the Local Chapters formal creation.
Volunteers acquire the necessary knowledge about the LC structure and how will be created and maintained. Also, they commit to create the LCs by preparing a course of action and deadlines.

B. To train volunteers on the most important roles that will be doing in their LCs.
Volunteers learn how it is the Hosting & Sending Processes, they identify the roles on each process by defining tasks, competences, responsibilities and deadlines; volunteers also get trained in all key roles identified.

C. To Introduce the National Board members to the volunteers.
Volunteers learn how AFS works on the “volunteer management” and get an introduction of the Board commitment (AFS IND goals).

Brief presentation on Intercultural Learning study conducted by Michael Bennet and results of the study.

AFS India Update (Past - Present - Future)

Presentation about AFS India’s activities during 2005 until April 2007 and future activities & goals for 2007-8.
